Other Produce

We offer bicolor (yellow and white) sweet corn throughout much of the summer. We grow supersweet varieties that are known for high sugar content (15-20%) that make the ears have great flavor.

Availability: Regular, July-September

Storage recommendations: Store sweet corn in the refrigerator with the husk on. The husk will trap humidity to keep the kernels from drying out.

We grow various types of eggplant but typically offer the standard Italian-type eggplant, which are oblong, plump, and deep purple. Occasionally we may offer green, magenta, and elongated eggplants.

Availability: Semi-regular, July-September

Storage recommendations: Eggplant will keep longest if kept cool, but not too cold. A cool area in the basement or warm area in the fridge will help your eggplant store for up to a week.

Fennel has a sweet flavor similar to anise or black licorice. Both the leaves and bulb may be used fresh or cooked to add flavor to a wide variety of dishes.

Availability: Semi-regular, June-September

Storage recommendations: Store fennel in the refrigerator for up to a week. The tops are especially prone to wilting–keep your fennel loosely inside a plastic bag to retain humidity.

Okra is commonly used as a thickener in gumbo, soup, and stews. It also may be roasted or fried and adds a unique, gooey texture to dishes.

Availability: Occasional, July

Storage recommendations: Okra should be used within three days, but may be kept in a warm part of the refrigerator, loosely wrapped in a paper towel, and exposed to good air circulation.
